IAMA (International Acoustic Music Awards) winner’s song has just been declared by Billboard as one of the biggest hits of all-time. Meghan Trainor meteoric rise to be a household name has her song “All About That Bass” just been named as one of the top 100 Hits of all time, sharing the list with music legends such as the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars and more.

Her song not only hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts but also hit #1 in 58 different countries. The song has been certified Diamond or 10X Platinum by RIAA. The only winner of IAMA ever to achieve the this honor. A coveted No. 1’s still the benchmark to which artists explore, from Ricky Nelson on the first to Drake; it is an Olympic Gold medal equivalent for music artists. Still, legendary artists such as James Brown or One Direction have never hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

The media has written that Trainor was an overnight success, but did you know she was discovered in IAMA (International Acoustic Music Awards) in 2009 and won Best Female Artist with an acoustic song “Waterfalls”? And she became one of the most-talked-about artists of the past 4 years. Her debut album ‘Title” debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts and she won a Grammy award for Best New Artist. Her success as a debut artist hitting #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts and Billboard 200 Charts puts her in a rare category of artists that have achieved this amazing feat: Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Cardi B.

Most music industry people laughed when Meghan entered and won Best Female Artist in 2010. But, when she hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, heard her Multi-Platinum selling song on the radio, they were left completely shocked and speechless. The entrants of IAMA (International Acoustic Music Awards) were surprised and even angry when a 16 year old girl won 9 years ago, completely unaware of the incredible success she was going to achieve. Her song “All About The Bass” has sold over 15 million copies worldwide and is one of the most successful singles of all time. The video has garnered over 2.2 Billion views on YouTube (at press time).

As of press time, Meghan Trainor has 9 songs that have hit the Billboard Hot 100 Charts, enough to put a “Greatest Hits” album out there. Read more: https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/hot-100-turns- 60/8468142/hot-100-all-time-biggest-hits-songs-list
